UNCG Theatre’s upcoming production of The Velveteen Rabbit is set to open on Thursday, November 13th at 7:30 pm in Taylor Theatre.  The play is adapted by UNCG Theatre faculty member Janet Allard based on the story by Margery Williams.

 The performance is directed by UNCG Theatre faculty member,  Rachel Briley, and boasts a design concept from faculty and student designers: Set Designer, Randy McMullen Costume Designer, UNCG Student Terry Baker and Lighting Designer, Ken White.  The production is stage managed by Rachael Bechtel.

 “There was once a Velveteen Rabbit…” This tale celebrates the power of love to transform our lives. Through the imaginative play of a boy and his toy rabbit, we come to discover the true meaning of what it is to be Real. Join them as they journey into a world of strange and wonderful magic with talking toys, wild adventures, and secret burrows.

All performances will take place in the Taylor Theatre at 406 Tate Street.

 Join us for a Tea Party after the 2pm performance of The Velveteen Rabbit  on Saturday November 15th.  $5.50 to attend the post-show reception in the Brown Building Theatre with sweets, treats, and a meet and greet with the cast!
