UNCG professor, Anne Parsons in partnership with community organizations and her History/Museum Studies graduate students created the exhibition States of Incarceration to the Int’l Civil Rights Center and Museum. The students curated a section of the exhibition and are installing the exhibit and organizing the Open Mic Night, the Mass Story Lab, and guided tours with formerly incarcerated folks. This builds upon her book From Asylum to Prison: Deinstitutionalization and the Rise of Prisons, which is coming out in Spring 2018 with UNC Press. The exhibition will be available November 8- December 2015. Learn more about this exhibit and associated events.
