Posted on March 18, 2015

At Rock, Paper, Scissors, and String Family Day, discover the exhibition through an array of hands-on activities celebrating playfulness in art. Free and open to all ages.

Under the guidance of Elaine Gustafson, Weatherspoon’s Curator of Collections, and Dr. Sunny Spillane, Assistant Professor of Art Education, UNCG’s Elementary Art Education students curated the exhibition Rock, Paper, Scissors, and String. At this student-led Family Day on March 21, 2015 (1pm – 4pm), discover the exhibition through an array of hands-on activities celebrating playfulness in art. Free and open to all ages.

This exhibition explores connections between a range of modern and contemporary artworks that employ innovative materials and approaches to image-making.  The show’s title Rock, Paper, Scissors, and String both recalls the familiar childhood game of chance and reflects the exhibition’s focus on the inventive use of artmaking materials, compositions, or techniques to create each work.
