A few weeks ago, the News & Record published an article about a new summer program whose focus was on nanoscience. The program was held at Canterbury School, and extended its study into the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering.

I had the honor of participating in this program, under the supervision of Mrs. Nicole Schutt (Canterbury) and Dr. Daniel Herr (JSNN). The focus was on hydroponics, on which we did experiments at the JSNN, while learning basic physics and chemistry in the process. We got to work with graduate students at the school, who talked with us about the fundamentals of science and introduced us to their projects. The week concluded with a tour of the JSNN, and a formal presentation of our findings.

The camp reconfirmed my passion in science. I had an amazing time, being around students as interested in the field as I am, and would suggest the camp to anyone who is interested in learning in general.
