NASPA, a national organization for student affairs administrators in higher education, has chosen UNCG as a lead institution in their national project on civic learning and democratic engagement. This initiative strives to make civic learning and democratic engagement (CLDE) part of every college student’s education.
Dr. Cherry Callahan, a former NASPA president, has accepted the invitation for UNCG to be a lead institution in this effort. UNCG’s commitment will involve creating and assessing strategies to increase student involvement in civic learning and democratic engagement.
Dr. Callahan has appointed a committee that includes Kristin Moretto (Chair), Cathy Hamilton, Erica Farrar, Emily Janke, Spoma Jovanovic, Patrick Lucas, Laura Pipe, Curtis Tarver, Chad Collins, Mary Swantek, Stephanie Kurtts, Jodi Pettazzoni, Kevin Erixon, Meredith Vaughn, and Jenna Ryan.
