The Global Opportunities Center, an initiative led by North Carolina Entrepreneurship Center Director Bryan Toney, was featured in the August 22, 2013 edition of the Greensboro News & Record. “Twenty-six speakers from local businesses and the education and government sectors gathered [for the Global Opportunities Summit] Thursday at the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering. They talked to an audience of about 200 about how people in these different areas can work together to create more jobs and improve the local economy. “We have a lot of assets and a deep history of global engagement,” said Bryan Toney, the director of the N.C. Entrepreneurship Center at UNCG. “What can we do to realize our full potential?” For the past year, Toney has led an effort to establish the Global Opportunities Center in downtown Greensboro. As Toney envisions it, the center would bring together students and professors from local colleges as well as government and local businesses.”
